Founded in 2005, MSC Co., Ltd. In February of this year, through an evaluation by EcoVadis, the world's largest ESG rating agency, it received a 'Silver rating' in the 2024 sustainability assessment, demonstrating transparent management for the environment, society, and sustainable business.
EcoVadis was established in France in 2007 and is an online ESG supply chain assessment organization used by over 100,000 companies in 175 countries around the world. Based on international sustainability standards, it evaluates four areas: environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement, and publishes scores for these.
The EcoVadis rating reflects a company's sustainability assessment results. The rating is calculated by comparing the company's performance over the past 12 months with all evaluated companies in the EcoVadis database. The percentile ranking is calculated against the entire industry, not just within the sector. Platinum is awarded to the top 1% (99th percentile or higher), Gold to the top 5% (95th percentile or higher), Silver to the top 15% (85th percentile or higher), and Bronze to the top 35% (65th percentile or higher) of companies.
This time, MSC Co., Ltd. achieved a percentile of 93%, narrowly missing the Gold rating by 2%, but achieved the notable accomplishment of receiving the Silver rating.
